April promises to be an exciting month for Milan, with a lineup of events that transform the city into a hub of art, design, and culture.
The month kicks off with Milano Art Week, celebrating contemporary art, followed by the Salone del Mobile, the world’s most important event in the field of furniture and design.
For one week, Milan becomes a vibrant meeting place for creativity, ideas, and innovation.
Art takes center stage with Milano Art Week and miart, the international modern and contemporary art fair, running from April 4 to 6.
Following last year’s theme, “no time no space”, the 2025 edition of miart is inspired by Robert Rauschenberg on the centenary of his birth, with the title “among friends”, borrowed from the last major MoMA retrospective dedicated to him. The fair pays tribute to his artistic vision, based on active participation, dialogue, and multidisciplinarity.
Collectors and enthusiasts will have the opportunity to discover masterpieces from the early 20th century to the latest artistic experiments, in an event that continues to grow in quality, audience, and participation.
April 8-13: Salone del Mobile and Milano Design Week
Starting April 7, the city lights up with Milano Design Week, while from April 8 to 13, the Salone del Mobile takes over Rho Fiera and the most dynamic districts of Milan.
One of the highlights is the Euroluce International Lighting Forum (April 10-11), a biennial event featuring conferences, round tables, and workshops with international guests, alongside a dedicated exhibition space showcasing the latest innovations in lighting design.
This is a unique opportunity to explore the latest trends in design, where functionality meets aesthetic research, offering innovative and captivating solutions for the modern world.
March: Must-See Art Exhibitions
Milan is also a city of great exhibitions. “The World of Banksy” – Open at Spazio Varesina 204, this interactive exhibition offers a fresh look at the most iconic and provocative works of the mysterious British artist, featuring new pieces and perspectives on themes such as war, capitalism, and consumerism.
Yukinori Yanagi at Pirelli HangarBicocca – The first major European retrospective dedicated to one of Japan’s most influential contemporary artists, known for his visually striking installations and reflections on identity, space, and social transformation. Open until July 27.
